SmartTutor.com Releases New Website
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) October 31, 2012
Learning Today, Inc., a South Florida-based reading and math software publisher (http://www.LearningToday.com and http://www.SmartTutor.com) announced today that the company’s Smart TutorTM program is being re-released with a brand new look and feel to offer an improved user experience for both parents and children. After several years of an existing design, the company invested in and released a new interface design to eliminate user fatigue and offer a world-class user experience.
The new website includes a responsive web design, enabling users to easily switch from desktop to mobile devices without the need to download a mobile version. It also includes flexible images that link users to their logons and personal accounts rapidly without using a lot of bandwidth. The new student interface includes colorful graphics including SmartTutor’s new mascot, Thinky Monkey. Students enter a student-centered user experience but have limited distractions, ensuring that they are able to access their educational assessment and instruction easily and efficiently.
“Now that we are refocusing on our consumer clients, Learning Today has redesigned SmartTutor.com to ensure the best user experience we can offer for at home teaching and learning,” commented Robin Baker, President of SmartTutor.com. “By simplifying the interface, updating the usability design, and including state of the art graphic design, we are certain that the parents, tutors, and students that use the system will enjoy the SmartTutor experience more than ever before.”
Smart Tutor is an online, research-based, reading and math program that provides individualized assessment and prescriptive instruction. Its learning management system allows parents and tutors to use reports to improve teaching and learning. Free resources include reading and math games, lessons, word searches, and flash cards. The math and reading curriculum is also designed to address the needs of special education students, English language learners, economically-disadvantaged students, and students in need of intervention. Lessons are aligned with state and national education standards.
Smart Tutor meets the needs of low-achieving students, including the fostering of specific reading skills, by tailoring assessments, instruction, practice, and re-assessment to individual students and providing a specialized learning plan for each student. More specifically, Smart Tutor assesses students to determine their appropriate skill level, establishes individualized instruction for each student, monitors and reviews student progress by accessing reports, identifies students in need of remediation and intervention, establishes targeted intervention programs and helps build skills that allow students to perform better on high-stakes tests.
There are no downloads or installations required for this web-based program. Parent and tutor manuals, training videos, and webinars are available online, and unlimited phone and email support is available free of charge.
